Oxford University Film Foundation OUFF exists to provide a community of filmmakers in Oxford - our aim is to allow everyone with an interest in making films to do so. We help people with their projects by producing films as a society as well as offering contacts, advice and equipment for members pursuing their own projects. We run a number of competitions throughout the year, with a major festival in Hilary term. We also organise events including workshops, talks by industry professionals and screenings. We will also be starting on an OUFF production this summer. This website will keep you up to date with what we're doing, and to provide a forum for aspiring filmmakers to help each other. History
The Foundation has an impressive history, having been founded in 1981 by Michael Hoffman and Rick Stevenson, now both successful film directors. It produced its first feature film, Privileged, in 1982, directed by Michael Hoffman and starring Hugh Grant and Imogen Stubbs. It then went on to become an active film-making society, producing a high quality film each year until 1995, many of which went on to achieve success at film festivals.
